Sights of Springy Springtime!

Hi Everybody!
I'm not sure what the weather is like where you live, but here in California, Spring has sprung.  Just a couple of weeks ago it was rainy and cold, but now it's blue skies and sunshine.

One of my favorite parts of Spring is when all of the flowers and trees come back to life.  At my house, we have fruit trees and they've definitely started to bloom.  We have a plum tree, an apricot tree, and a peach tree.  They've been here since before we moved in.

My mom took this picture of one of our fruit trees at our house.   I love the pink flowers.  The flower petals will soon fall off the branches to make room for the fruit to grow.  I hope we get a lot of fruit this year!

Can you guess what kind of fruit tree this is a picture of?

Do you have any fruit trees in your backyard?  If yes, are they blooming yet?  What color are the flowers?

What is Spring like where you live?

  2. Dear Mallory,

WOW, you made an amazing post!

You asked everyone if they have fruit trees in their back yards. Well I do! I have an apricot tree and a lemon tree. Did you know that limes are actually lemons, they're just not ripe yet.

I don't know if my trees started blooming, because I don't go in my backyard a lot. I don't go in my backyard a lot because it is so small.

Do you like apricots or lemons best?

    Sincerely,
    Chloe

  3. Dear Mallory,

I love your new spring post!

I can tell that it is spring because the orchids are blooming in my yard, and the two liquid amber trees are starting to sprout green leaves. Soon our class tree will be filled with beautiful green leaves.

Many of our classmates have said they are going to plant gardens. Are you going to garden?

I don't know what kind of tree you have in your yard, but we have several citrus trees. Right now, the orange blossoms are all in bloom and the fragrant flowers can be smelled in our front yard. I love spring!

  4. Greetings Mallory,

I love your use of alliteration in the title of this post. I was just thinking the other day how Spring has arrived. The azalea bushes are in full bloom where I live and so are the fruit trees.

Using information you included in your post, I would guess that your lovely picture shows a plum tree in bloom. Am I correct?

Enjoy this lovely time of year and keep blogging.

  5. Dear Mallory,

I'm glad to hear spring has sprung in California. It's always nice when you can leave the cooler weather behind and welcome in the sunshine!

Your tree looks beautiful. As you know, here in Australia, we're in the southern hemisphere. That means our seasons are opposite and we're currently in autumn.

The weather hasn't cooled down much yet - we've had a lot of warm days. In fact, our heat waves have broken a few weather records this year!

We have an apple tree, peach tree and apricot tree in our backyard. They usually produce fruit in summer, however, this year we didn't really get much at all. Some people think it's because it has been too dry. I'm not sure, I'm no green thumb. Do you use the expression "green thumb"?

  6. Dear Mallory,

Hopefully we have seen the last of snow. Yes, snow!! You are lucky to live in an area where the climate is fairly warm. Grammy and I hope that Spring will arrive soon and our plum tree will start to show its pretty purple flower buds.

    Love,

    Grampy

  7. Dear Mallory,

Happy Spring and a great post! I love taking walks in the spring and looking at all the beautiful trees and flowers. I think the tree in your photo is a flowering cherry tree. Am I right?

We have two big flowering ornamental pear trees. They have similar flowers to the one in your photo, except they are white and the tree does not produce any edible fruit. Do your fruit trees produce tasty fruit?

  8. Dear Mallory,

I love your perfect post! Yes, I do. The fruit trees in my backyard have started blooming (just the fruits). We have the following kinds of fruit trees: an orange tree, a lemon tree and a grapefruit tree. We actually made some lemonade yesterday from the lemons off of our tree. Our trees produce little white flowers. I think all of the fruits are yummy, but I like oranges the most. What is your favorite fruit?

    Warmly,
    Jenna
